Jodi in Cleveland,

Here are some ideas, hope they help:

Do a Google search for "coffee donations in Cleveland" or "winery donations in Cleveland" or "restaurant donations in Cleveland"... You get the idea. Sometimes you'd be surprised what pops us.

Try your national brands for free coupons: C&H Sugar, Sweet Baby Ray BBQ Sauce, Gum Dental - I've had luck with these in the past, but haven't tried yet this year. The big conglomerates (Proctor & Gamble, Kraft, etc) never had luck with as they donate on a huge scale to big organizations.

Try all your coffee shops, golf courses, skating rinks, bowling alleys (AMF is national I believe, and I did get a favorful response from them), local cupcake and cookie shops (great for the bake sale during your fundraiser!), local theaters and museums, aerospace museums, gymnastics or karate lessons, zoos and funderlands, if you have any distribution companies (beverage, chips, fruits/veggies) sometimes they will donate items.

Good luck!

If you live in Northern California, the San Francisco Giants will also donate once a year to your organization. They are very generous and usually donate a signed baseball. This always goes over very well for our Little League fundraiser but is just as good for school fundraisers.

UPDATE: I also checked other national baseball teams (including New York) and they all seem to have some sort of community giving program where they will give free baseball tickets. These are always great prizes!

Also, nationally, C&H Sugar usually donates free coupons and little recipe books. Great for giveaways or putting with other prizes: www.chsugar.com/contact-us

Our event is on Friday and we have all sorts of donations... We have received a few coupons and we are placing them with another item for a door prize...

A lot of our door prizes, I purchased after Christmas during the sale... soaps, lotions, nail polish...

I started asking for donations back in June! There were only a few companies I could ask that much in the future but if you give them a while to think they normally help you out! I googled my state donation request and just started filling them out... I would put aside at least an hour a night, after I got my girls to bed, to start sending in requests...

You are going to get nos, so you say thank you for your consideration and hope for another company to help!

We probably have $3,000 in donations this year and this is my first year asking! Hope to be able to beat that next year!
