Question: Electing a board-elected candidate outside of normal election time

We had elections at the end of the school year and there is a position open. We have people interested in filling the position. Can we nominate and elect the people at a regular meeting or must we hold an election - nominiate, notify the parents and then hold a formal election?

If you have more than one person interested, you should hold an election. I don't see any problem with doing it at a regular meeting, however. You could accept nominations by email up to a certain date, include the elections on your agenda, and vote at your next regular meeting.
