Question: Nominating Committee Ethics

Our current PTA sec. wants to be president next year. She is involved with the nominating committee and is asking the people she wants to be on the board next year to also be on the nominating committee. She has asked me to be on the committee and also would like me to be VP next year. This feels funny to me--a nominating committee only nominating themselves? Interested in other opinions on this. Thanks!

Aloha @twoedmunds. In our PTO, the Secretary chairs the nominating committee which is made up of the Board of Directors. The President can appoint 3 additional committee members, if necessary. We have had pretty much the same Board for the last four years, except that the VP has changed every year. Each year, Board members, including myself, have sought re-election and we ask others to run again, or seek out candidates to fill spots. I think its okay as long as the committee is prohibiting others from seeking election. But, that's just my perspective.
