Question: Need an alternative....

We have an 8th grade banquet for the graduating students & their parents (7 we bring in ALL of the teachers they have had thru the years). It has been tradition to get corsages & boutonnieres for the kids. I was told this tradition was because we don't do caps & gowns. HUH?? Anyway, funds are tight & we would like to skip the flowers I know the kids don't want. Any ideas???

You could consider a gift that the kids would appreciate, like a T-shirt saying "Class of 2013" and a school logo/mascot on it. That's more of a keepsake than flowers. For a little more money, you could do tote bags.
