Question: PTO Membership dues

I know PTA makes members pay. I was wondering if anyone knew if you could ask for PTO members to pay? Or would that be too much to take on?

Unless it is prohibited in your bylaws, yes, you should be able to set membership dues if you want to.

Hi!
mum24kids is correct. But, wanted to add that we aren't big fans of dues. What we've seen is parents are sometimes not thrilled with the idea of paying dues to join an organization that they will then donate their time and money to. So, be careful. It can be counterproductive to building involvement and fostering a sense of community.
