Question: Principle authority

If we are a PTO working under the schools EIN and they hold our bank account. How much authority does the principle have? Can he give us rules and or by laws that we have to follow? What about our money how much authority does he have with our money?

With this structure, the principal does have a lot of say. So, work at having a good and productive relationship with the principal. Stay focused on what's important -- supporting the school -- and finding ways to be on the same page with the principal. As far as money raised, if you hold a fundraiser and tell parents the money is intended for a specific expense, say, field trips, then the money should go to that -- parents are expecting that will be the case.
