Question: Non-parent/guardian members?

Currently our By Laws read "Any parent, guardian, or other adult standing in loco parentis for a student currently attending . . ." but we had a question about remaining a dues paying member once their kids no longer attend our school. We are leaning toward no, but it's a long-time trusted volunteer. The problem comes when some total outsider wants to be a member with voting rights etc. Any thoughts or ideas on how to handle this are appreciated!

your bylaws sound like they read, any parent, guardian, or other adult standing in loco parentis for a student CURRENTLY attending school. I think currently is the key word in the bylaws.
