BTW speaking of good eats, you can make yuor own mayonnaise, not too hard at all, and it tastes FANTASTIC.

on food network, alton brown, did a whole show about butter vs margarine...he was dressed like a judge and threw the book at margarine...(on health grounds, not taste). his results might be on his website, of foodnetwork site.

You know for a long time I didn't use butter just stuck with margarine, but then I got a cookie recipe that used only butter and I thought, "you know this taste so much better and the cookies look nicer, what have I been doing?" I now use butter in all the recipes unless it specifies otherwise. If you're going to make something you might as well make it the best it can be.

My hubby is a freak about mayonnaise. It's only because he doesn't like it, so he thinks no one else should either. He uses the high fat argument to support his theory. This from the man who thinks ANYTHING is better when bacon is involved. That's not the only food he protests either. When we clean up after meals, he doesn't put away the things he doesn't like(eat) such as tomatoes, asparagus, olives, and some other things. He just leaves them sitting.

We saw some snowflakes this morning. The wind is ferocious here and this morning my poor daffodils and tulips were frozen and flopped over on the ground. When I get home I'm going to see what kind of shape they are in and probably cut them to enjoy in the house if they are salvagable.

LOL...And I thought my husband was the only one with a "butter thing". I swear, I have to bake and cook when he's not around or throw the butter in quick when he walks out of the kitchen 'cause if he sees it he kind of gets scared or something. Now, keep in mind, no cholesterol, blood pressure, health issues. Just - a "thing". Butter, mayonnaise, creamy dressings. But, I keep him heavily stocked in BBQ sauce!

I finally got a chance to catch up on ...page two. I'm not going to get into the topic of the last few pages too much, kids are only 9 and 7, but I will say thank you to all for tips for the people like me who need all the info/ideas we can get for the soon to come pre-teen and teen years!! Many good points made.

 The snow is on it's way back. Hopefully just for a couple days. I'm almost ready for Easter. Got a new recipe but won't post until after I actually make it this weekend (lots of brushed on melted butter - ha ha!). Italian Easter Pie...

It's in the air right now, JHB. My 5th grade class is all about girlfriend/boyfriend stuff right now. And it will only be worse after spring break. They all get so caught up in it all this time of year. YIKES! I am pretty sure I wasn't aware of that kindof stuff in 5th. It is scary how advanced they all are now.

I LOVE PAULA DEAN. She has a restaurant in Savannah and I would love to go one day. She is just a hoot to listen to. How fun would she be to hang out with one day!!!!

I'm playing hooky today from class. My kids are on spring break and I just couldn't drag myself out of bed to go. I called in sick, which means I will probably be striken with some rare brain disease--maybe it will be a good one that makes me want to clean, cook and do laundry!

The pollen around here is crazy. Everything is green. It rained some yesterday, so now there are these rivers of pollen floating down the street, and it has my allergies all crazy.

Off to veg on couch--since I am playing hooky, I'm going to live it up!

I was looking for information on a craft project and typed in "stiffened felt". Even those words gave me back some info that made me blush. You know even though the kids wouldn't be able to get to the sites, just the little "blurbs" had some inappropriate content.
