Am I missing a step? When do you add the whiskey? And how much? Or is it a Julia Child style recipe where the alchohol is poured directly into the chef? :D

Shawn honey (said in my best southern drawl)- you've just been cyber hugged! : ;)

It's been so long since I've had this drink - I can't wait to make it (and any recp. with Jack in it is always good)! ;)

I will let you know how it goes.

Here's the only version I know

Lynchburg Bold Custard
(Boiled Custard)

1 quart whole milk
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup plus two tablespoons sugar
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey

Heat milk until it just begins to simmer (I've seen it as scald the milk also). Beat egg yolks, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl. Gradually stir about 1 cup of the hot milk into the egg yolks to temper the mixture. Pour egg mixture into the remaining hot milk in the saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and the custard coats the back of a wooden spoon. Do not allow to boil--or the eggs will curdle and you'll have to start over. Cool. Stir in vanilla and chill before serving. Serve in cups, small glasses (or over cake?). Top with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.

MMMMMMMMMMM choc dipped chocolate chip cookies :D

Cc - I had my own "renewal" today. I was in the post office to buy - 1, just 1 stamp. Went to the little machine and it was out of them. So that meant I was going to have to stand in line for 1 stamp! Well, after a few childish and unplesant comments, I stomped into the post office and got into line (and it was loooonnggg!). About a minute later this lady tapped my shoulder. I turned, recognized her as being the lady in front of me at the machine. She then proceeded to explain she had bought a book of stamps and offered me one so I wouldn't have to stand in line! I was so overcome with grattitude. I tried to pay her (it was only .40, but I didn't want to seem the mooch), but she absoutly refused. Renewed faith.

Silver Fox - my plan:
play with my girls more
volunteer at the school as much as possible
exercise (for myself)

Shawn - this southern girl would just die for some boiled custard (CC - check out this southern drink)! I think I will bake some chocolate dipped chocolate chip cookies - any takers?

Oooo, Silver, a challenge! You sure know how to motivate this group. What am I going to do?

*Throw myself into our new business and learn everything I can. It's all brand new and thrilling!

*Share the wealth. Life has been good to us and our hard work has been rewarded. Hubby and I strive to teach our son what we believe: "Those who can help those who can't."

*Follow Mahatma Ghandi's advice: "You must be the change you want to see in the world." and be more gracious and polite.

Shawn - yes!, spiced eggnog!!!!
