You know something, I love baseball too. It's so nice to see some teams really take it, like Boston and Anaheim. It lost it's excitement for a while there and these teams showed that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a winning team! Besides, my team (Oakland) always chokes it seems so I have to live for these underdogs.
Next year, Cub country!!

Yeah, different angle here, my brother was born on the 28th, birthday parties, cake, candy, old ladies, stupid cousins (yeah yeah yeah noth'n but love) etc!! Mom and Dad exausted (harvest time too)....

Time to make new and happy memories. Very possible with my crazy bunch!!

you know....if Boston can win, what about Chicago......mmmmmmmm boy, I think we would take a second on the house just to go! Win or lose! You know though, when was the last time the folks in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Ill, really REALLY got to have a World Series in their own neck of the country. St. Louis really showed everyone what us "farm kids" always knew! I will always remember this series. The impossible was possible....I love baseball!

The curse is lifted and hopefully shift the paradigm... (I won't actually bring up politics here but...

I gotta say, this time of year, it's nice to live in Nevada! Nevada became a state on October 31, 1864 (supposedly because of the silver and gold that we had, but really Nevada was a federal territory, and it's gold and silver made us a territory on March 2, 1861 and was admitted as a state to help with the re-election efforts of Lincoln and to help ratify the 13th Amendment- new electoral votes and no sway because of the Civil War)

Why the little history lesson? Because October 31st is also Nevada Day and as a result, we get this Friday off!!! As a kid, we always had Halloween off from school. So we get three days of candy induced comas.
Maybe that's why I love Halloween so much!

I looked after the kids went to bed and it was cloudy so I didn't see anything, but they showed it on the baseball game. Does anyone else feel like Halloween starts out as one of those simple holidays and rapidly snowballs into 2 weekends of parties and kids falling asleep in the car with candy everywhere and parts of costumes missing and it is only compounded by 2 days off school for conferences? So maybe that was more of a vent than a question. :D

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

(that my friends, is my wonderful daughter! thank you...go to bed!!!)

Just never got into the whole scary thing. Maybe I grew up with too many boy cousins and hide and go seek after 10:00 on Grandpa's farm. Not funny!
Okay, I did like Ghostbusters, still have the soundtrack!
Did anyone see the lunar eclipse? Really cool out here. Dang right spooky! Now maybe my little darlings will go back to normal! Hey a girl can dream!! ;)

Ghostbusters!!

Ok, sure Easter is great but name some really fun sing-a-long songs for Easter! Amazing Grace, Tip Toe through the Tulips (my mom used to sing that one and mind you, she is completely tone deaf!

How can anyone not love Halloween? It's sooooo spooky!! :D

New topic for the forum Halloween vs Easter
"Easter is the celebration of the re-birth of Christ, or is it? more than 75% of all Holidays are now non-christian...." LMAO, I couldn't help myself....
