Snow Day

I'm trying to remember what the sun looks like. We had this thick fog all day yesterday and it's still here today. Before that it's just clouds everyday. The lack of sun really affects my motivation to move.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

It's 60 with a chance of thunderstorms. I am very sick. Imagine that! Sore throat and all that good stuff. I am sure my body is saying "What the..??"

I was thinking the last El Nino that came through we got a bunch of snow. I could be wrong. I know the weather was rather wild for a few months.

:D OK all you cold weather friends. You're welcome to join me in Florida, where the weather has been great! Highs in the upper 70s.

It is supposed to get colder here this weekend. Highs in the 50s, much better than what some of you are going through.

Keep warm and safe and we will get through all the weather issues together.

I would love to thaw out right now. We are having sleet right now and it's not supposed to get above freezing until Sunday or later. Is someone in a warmer state willing to adopt a great PTO mom and her 3 sons???? :D

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

One of the novelty items you see in some stores here are the glass (plastic) "snow" globes called

Texas Snowman

It's just the plastic globe with water and the snowman decoration pieces floating in the water. (A little orange bit to represent the carrot nose, some black "buttons", a top hat.)

No sparklies, and certainly no "snow" - he's melted!

Well at least you didn't have to pick them up in this. I have gotten to the point where I go 30 minutes early and wait in the school and take my time leaving so I don't get in the crush. Ever since they reduced the number of children riding buses it's almost impossible to pick up the kids without someone almost hitting me. I wish they would let them out in shifts or something because the area around the school just can't handle the traffic. I have to go to Perry tonight, so I hope it doesn't get much worse. It's really bad on my street that was thick slush yesterday and is a solid sheet of ice today. I love Kansas-NOT! Hope everyone stays safe.
