One more thing for anyone out there. When you are filling out a donation request and they ask how many items you are asking for what do you put? I don't want to put a number too high and then get turned down, but on the flip side I do not want to ask for too little when I could have gotten more.

Lisa - I have not tried to get things in Florida...because I am in California, so I got tickets for Disneyland, however, I am having a hard time getting hotels near Disneyland to donate.

I have been trying to put mini vacation packages together...I have had some luck getting tickets for places in certain areas, then hotels in others, having a hard time getting hotels and tickets in the same area...with exception to San Diego. The way I have been doing it, is going to www.tripadvisor.com, looking up the area I want to get donations from and asking for donations from the various places on that list.

I would love to do goody bags, however, at this point, dont think I will have enough to be able to give to everyone that comes...so I am trying to figure out something with the samples, hand outs.

Right now, our biggest auction item is Disneyland and the getaway to San Diego. We have received donations from various places and am trying to figure out how to piece them together.

When you get the Disney tickets, has anyone gotten hotel, food at any places in Florida?

has anyone tried to put packages together for getaways/mini vacations to places about 3 hours away from their hometown? These are things I am trying out but wanted to know what others did.

Also, has anyone been successful in putting together goodie bags or favors for the event? If so, what type of items were you able to get donated for this?

I have received quite a bit of No's from places that were mentioned on here, but it has made me think outside the box of places to contact. A lot of places just don't give to either provate schools or are out of funds.

What type of big prizes do you usually have for auctions?
