Since this thread has been quiet lately, I thought I'd go ahead and post an update on how things are going for our West Texas non-profit silent auction:

Yes
- Adventure Landing (Dallas, 2 4-Free-Golf-Game passes)
- Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa in Reno (2-Night Stay in Tower Guest Room)
- CVS ($25 eGift Card)
- Dallas Stars Foundation (Unknown yet, will send 1-2 weeks before)
- Disney Land (Four Disneyland Resort One Day Park Hopper Tickets)
- Neiman Marcus (Lead Glass Votive, Local Store)
- Pink Calyx ($50 Gift Certificate)
- Premier Cancun (Vacations Package)
- RedBox (25 DVD promo codes)
- Texas Rangers (Unknown yet, will send 4 weeks before)
- Several celebrities have sent autographed pictures, playbills, or cards
- Several authors with signed bookplates (I'm still working on getting all of the books to go with them, but will make a nice set)
- Several local businesses

No
- Academy Sports
- Emergen-C
- Jack Link's Beef Jerky
- Joan Rivers' website (Won't support any more charities, although they seem to send out autographed pictures all the time according to fanmail.)
- Lego Foundation
- Limited Brands
- Minted
- Rachael Ray Show (Reached limit for season)
- Rosewood Crescent Hotel (Dallas, offered reduced rate instead)
- Sea World
- Ski Taos
- Thirty-One Gives
- Zappos

Still waiting on some 40+ stores, although most are over a month old now, so anything I receive from them would just be a bonus. We're concentrating more locally now, since we have a lot of the autographed and "big-ticket" items we were originally looking for. Celebrity mailings have been far more successful than I ever imagined, although it did cost me some money out of my own pocket (probably spent around $150 to send out letters and SASE's). There are some great sites out there that were really beneficial in finding addresses that have worked recently for celebrities.

We're still almost four months out, so we're in better shape than ever before, thanks in large part to this site. Using the "(local city) donation request" in various search engines makes for a great tool. Thanks again!

Good luck to you, Crusader! We are happy that it's over, I would have liked to have had more bidders, but overall, I was happy with the results.

We are definitely getting a committee for next year. This year, it was really just me and my husband. But we will have much more time for next year and will be able to get more people to help!

I always worry about not having enough food, we ended up having too much, but I'd rather have too much than not enough, it's always hard to judge when you don't know for sure how many are coming :/

lois lane... I bet you are glad it is done..mine is on the 20th and I'm nervous. I think I have a good amount to auction off but I'm nervous for the school about how many
people will show up. no one really is rsvp and we need to know about how many so we know how much food to order.. but that's not my committee so as long as mine goes well then I can be proud of myself for that.

Our auction was today, our first way, and went great! We made the initial goal we set and are encouraged for next year's event, especially since we will have much more time! We put this one together in 3 months! I'm probably going to start in July for next year.

Just wanted to share a last-minute donation we received, when we came home from set-up Friday night, we had a Fed-Ex package from UPS. Rack Room Shoes sent us a gift card for a pair of shoes up to $100 value. It was a nice addition and went well above what I thought! I applied a while back and it took a while to get a response, but it did well.
