We are a parochial, private, Episcopal PreK-8th day school. We're tracking well with donations but do get turned away a lot because of our Episcopal affiliation (religious organization). Mostly our best donations have come via connections to companies and organizations but we have received a few from the at large group. We're at $27000. in donations and sponsorships and our event is April 27. We need another $10000 to be at goal. They are trickling in. When our auction program is printed, I will be happy to post it.
Is there anyway people would be willing to mention what type of organization or event they are soliciting for when they post their successes/no-gos? It makes a big difference and may help us see a pattern in giving.
We did get Southwest for the first time this year so I am hopeful that we will receive Amtrak too. I hate being in limbo I'd rather get a no than to have it pending for so long. I wish I had a number to call...
I never seem to have much luck with the Bidding for Good ones. I really can't think of any we have actually gotten in the last 2 years. I even got turned down for a local one
The problem is even though our print deadline is this Friday our event isn't until March 16th. There are a lot of companies that will not give us a decision until 2 weeks before our event.
I got mostly no's from the ones on bidding for good except some of the ones in my state (California) said yes, but mostly the local ones. I got no from all hotels I contacted so far. I haven't tried the airlines this time but from past experience, those are usually a no-go. We are a small group and it seems higher ticket items aren't usually within reach.
