I have been working on donations requests for 8 years now. This year I had huge success with local and national companies that advertise through Groupon and LivingSocial. I scroll through the deals they are advertising and go to the companies websites. I then either mail a donations request letter or enter a request through their online contact. Whenever possible I either attach the donations letter or cut and paste the letter into contact. I was surprised at the large number that emailed me back a gift certificate or a note stating that they would mail something out. Some just showed up in the mail. Very cool! Give it a try.....

We have used Elite at 3 auctions so far. The winner pays airfare and daily all inclusive fee but that covers their food, beverages(Including alcohol) and activities at the resort. Most resorts have 3-5 restaurants with excellent foods and wines, etc. Many times your bar bill can quickly add up to the daily fee. We have had very happy bidders who have gone. The family resorts have kids camps which is included in your fee's that can keep the kids busy and happy all day if they want to participate. The resorts will even pack you a picnic if your going off resort. The water sports that are covered are amazing and if you try and add up food, drinks and spoting activities on your own you will spend way more than the average $125.00 per day.

KarenVan, we also used the Square both for event tickets and the night of our event. Attendees REALLY liked that option and the fact that they didn't need to haul a checkbook with and they get their reward points. Square charged 2.75% and I think it was WELL worth it. Our event this year raised 25% more than last year..maybe Credit Cards had something to do with that..not sure.

Rose- Yes, definitely a lesson to be learned. It is also quite emotional. This woman is a bit intimidating. When I was younger, I had envisioned a world without any bullying in my adult life. Sadly, I can't say this is true. I have compiled a list of donations and emailed it out to everyone on the committee for future reference as to what was donated "so we can all look forward to the auction/raffles prizes at our upcoming event".

Thank you all for your thoughts. They have all been very helpful. Have a wonderful day!
