“Our school is in the middle of a large and rapidly growing district. For two years now, we’ve held a book drive the week before Valentine’s Day and titled it ‘Share Your Love of Reading.’ We’ve been able to divide the books we’ve collected among the next year’s new elementary schools to help them jump-start their libraries. When our students donate a book, they sign construction paper hearts for each new school. We then arrange the hearts on laminated posters to give to the new school principals, to hang in their libraries. The poster has the title of our book drive, our school name, and then lots of well-wishing students’ names on it.”
