Like many other groups, Madison Creek PTO holds a huge annual dinner and auction. But rather than make the event adults-only (limiting attendance and, therefore, profits), the group sets up an on-site baby-sitting area so parents can watch the auction without interruption. The event raises about $50,000 and has paid for items such as a security system and the school’s computer lab.
