How much time does a treasurer generally spend per month on school business?

It depends on the person and the group, but you can expect to spend maybe two to five hours a month plus meetings doing the treasurer's job. You also may need a block of time before the school year starts to set up a transaction system (setting your files up in Quicken, for example).
