My biggest pet peeve is any bill that can't be paid online. Who has time to write all those checks?

I hate that too! What company doesn't have online bill pay or over the phone bill paythis day and age? I've got 2 bills to pay each month that don't and it makes me crazy!

Those automated things drive me crazy too. I had one that relentlessly asked for a service reference number. I pushed every number I could imagine to get the thing moving. I finally yelled at the recording that "I don't have a f*&^#$g service number." The recording said, "OK, you say you don't have a service reference number. Please hold." I was worried that I was then getting transfered to the FCC!

I had to call a bank once for basic info about our car loan. She asked me six specific questions that I had the answers to. Then she said, "Are you Mr. CC?" I said, "No, I'm Mrs. CC." She says, "Oh, well, you're not on the account so I can't give you any information." I said, Hey, here's a tip. Why don't you start with that question first. It would save us both a lot of time. She hung up on me?!?!?!?! I thought I was being helpful..... :p

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

haven't really tried it, but with a quick search I found:

www.gethuman.com/us/

it lists a database of numbers and what to put in at prompts
