I got so tired of hearing yuck we decided to make meals we enjoy. They are required to eat a few bites no matter the meal. I think I heard a doc/nutritionist say not to long ago kids like pretty bland food - something about taste bud counts. For them to like something other than 'chicken' (yellow/bland food) they have to try it about 15 times before they like it. We now tease our kids that they are only on the 10th time so they have to eat it 5 more times no matter the meal choice.

It's not the food you put on the table, it's that you're all sitting down together to share a meal. We had scrambled eggs with ham and cheese. Nobody went "yuck!" so I guess I did pretty good with that menu.
You make all the most exotic dishes, d!! I would love to cook like that, but I know it would be a waste of time and money because my family would take one look at it and ask me if I had lost my mind. They looked suspicious a few months ago when I started making my own meatballs for spaghetti instead of just using ground beef. They all loved them, but they hate trying new things. My husband is the one who has made my children this way. He is SOOOOO picky and kids just copy what they see with their parents.
