Wed and we are preping for the 'promised' last visit of the year from the MIL. School starting soon, last visit of the year from the MIL ... it's all falling into place.
I know I will be weepy on the first week of school but I am positive that much needed first shopping day alone, without kids playing hide n seek in the clothing racks, I'll come into my own.

4. Enjoy the sounds of a peacefull and quiet house. This incessent bickering is driving me bonkers! Someone has to go back to school--either me or them, and at this point I don't care who! But the sad thing is on the first day, I will be crying cause I will miss them. They are in 2 and 4 and I still cry on the first day. :( Somethings just never change! We start back on the 6th of August. Only 2 more weeks!

The weather is kinda decent around here lately, surprisingly. Not sweltering hot but usually August is the worst. Been too hot to cook though. :) We've been on a major fruit binge lately. Had watermellon almost everyday.

Well, one of the kiddo's informed me that he didn't realize he had to change undies every day!! Ok--he is 7 and every morning of school I lay out his clothes--everything from shoes, to undies to belt, etc. But in the summer, they dress themselves unless we are going somewhere nice. So I go to do 8 loads of laundry and realize this kid has only 1 pair of boxers in the mix. I ask him about it and he says he didn't know he was supposed to change everyday (with a pout and the "let's sucker mom look").
I don't know why I am surprised though. This is the kid that tried to take the shampoo out to the pool, so that he "wouldn't have to worry about a bath later". ARGH!! Boys!!!

Electric fence has crossed my mind.
Kids are watching Superman Returns for the 3rd time ... theatre system is so loud the house is shaking. Hmmm ... wonder if anyone in the neighborhood can hear ... maybe we should turn it up? :D
School registration forms were sent out today. I can't beleive the break is almost over ... what to do during the 5 hours of silence each day ... giddy just thinking of a clean house for longer than it takes me to clean a room. Maybe Jan 1st shouldn't be the offical day for 'resolutions' perhaps a better day is the first day of school. Any 1st day of school resolutions out there?
1 - Really clean the house
2 - Make some meals that aren't out of a box or out of a window
3 - As selfish as this sounds ... allow myself time to relax

Hubby had surgery today--went fine but men are SUCH babies. You'd think he'd broken his neck or something :). Hope you're all well!
