Will you be running for office this year?

You have lots of support here and good luck with your position.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Yee Haw! I think. I was voted in as VP last night. I know that I'll need lots of support.

Laney: We all know you as EaglesPrez... isn't it funny that our log on names are part of our "forum personality"? Welcome to your second personality on the forums. LOL! :D

After leaving the PTO at my daughters school and thinking of all the time I could now donate to other causes as well as my family I went to a Booster meeting at my sons school. When elections were mentioned I cautiously stated "I'll do whatever I can"--never got any further with my statement as they all jumped on that right away. LOL  Guess I'm 'running' for President here- though like most groups there arent many people willing to step in so it looks like I have a new job. I do want to work with the LSIC of my daughters school and maybe a committee. Are we all gluttons for punishment? Regardless of the work and stress I think I strive on it and really enjoy it too.

BTW: Laney=formally known as EaglesPrez- Thought I'd better change the name. LOL

Sorry, I don't mean to laugh, but it's common knowledge within the different groups/committees that I'm involved in, that if you're not in attendance at a meeting, you will be volunteered for some type of job.

That is so funny! Recently at our State PTA Convention, we met a former National President that just happens to be from our state, Ann Lynch. She said that she left to go to the bathroom and when she came back in, she was the National PTA President. (Somehow, I think she may have had something to do with the rules that say, "nominees must give their prior consent to be nominated". :D

I mentioned to my husband my intrest of running again. He said NO WAY. Something about how peaceful it had been since I got out of office. Blah, blah. Then he mentions we only have one year left at this school. Was that not my point? This is my last chance. I am on the fence about this. Part of me thinks I can't put enough time into it and part of me thinks, Sure I can swing it now that we are in our new house. There is a mom who would nominate me in a heartbeat. She really wants me to run. Then on the other hand if I start sub teaching wouldn't that be seen as a bigger conflict than being a sub aide (that is what I've been for the last 4 1/2 years)? Decisions, decisions.
