Gas prices, what are you paying?

18 years 8 months ago #125724 by mykidsmom
Still recovering from $2.99 here in Denver but if you purchase your gas at Safeway and have purchased $50 in groceries (like the night before) you earn a 6 cent discount! ANymore that's a nice trip through the meat dept to spend $50 now that we are done with diapers!! King Soopers offers this too but their gas station is farther away from me.

I know this is hard on the buses but my heart can't help but to think about our farmers that will be in the fields soon to harvest and the truckers! Oh God....

Just a thought, how about asking parents to purchase gift cards for the transportation dept? I've been playing with this idea since our buses fill-up at the gas station on our block.....What do ya think??

Well today its $3.49 some places are a little higher. Glad I filled the tank when I did. I won't be doing too much running around this holiday weekend.
Here in NY state price gouging is against the law our attorney general is looking into it already with a lot of the gas companies. So we shall see what happens.
At some of our gas stations they went up over .80cents in one day. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
But as long as people keep going crazy buying it, its only going to get worse and go up more.

Here's the info on the discount gas cards.

Perkins Distributing Company. Their phone number is 800-441-8599.

In northwestern MIchigan, we went from $2.79 to $2.99 to $3.55 and it's settled at $3.19 for two days now. The price gouging was unbelievable. Those stations were charging outrageous prices for gas that they had in their tanks and had NOT paid that high of price for.
This is going to really hurt our community because we are a very rural area and we don't have bussing. We have some people who have to drive 100 miles a day to bring their kids to and from school and return home.
I am really afraid how it's going to affect our local economy.

There is some shortage and panic here in Louisiana. REgular is about $2.87 and there are lines and empty gas stations and I've never seen that in my life. My husband was able to go out late last night and put some gas in that horrible gas-guzzling Suburban of mine.
