Gas prices, what are you paying?

We dropped $.10 today to $2.99. The rep for our fundraising company, using a new one to us and she had been telling me how much money we would make compared to all the others, emailed me to let me know not to get my expectations too high with the sudden financial crisis. My thoughts were, I'd have to be an idiot to not think of that right away and it's funny that she was so confident and now she's back tracking. Oh well, maybe the trend will continue.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Around here the drought has the crops looking pretty sad. Add in the high cost of fuel and some farmers might be better off leaving it in the fields.

We have our first PTO meeting next week and I think we're going to have to look long and hard at what our priorities are for our funds this year and maybe put more things on a kind of "wish list" so we're safe budget-wise if the fundraisers don't come through.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

HOw much is this going to effect food prices too? Harvest season is here and those combines take A LOT of fuel! My Dad said his bank have a comic strip on the wall of a farmer asking for a car loan but called it "put gas in my new car loan"! The bank President joked with Dad and said he could do it but the intrest would be crazy! ;) :D

There IS a national day of "not buying gas". It is September 10. I heard about it last week.
