The ULTIMATE Donation List

Regarding the auctioning off of the big ticket items. We hold a special raffle for airline tickets, disney tickets. I am in NY and we sell tickets for those items for $15.00 -$20.00 a ticket. They are big items and that is the "grand prize" of the night to be called at the end!

Thanks Sharon and Thomas for responding about the Disney tickets. I'm assuming we will not be receiving tickets since our event is 2 weeks away and I haven't heard from them yet. Do they usually notify either way?

We are receiving products from Wrangler but don't know exactly what it is. I sent a message through the website and I just got an email with shipment notification .

Another thing we do is a shark race, for $1 you get a shark in the race and we award 1st place $100, 2nd $50, and 3rd $25. This is a big hit and major money maker and the kids love watching the sharks go down the river. Last year the students sold 4,000 sharks so it was a nice profit.

I contacted Redbox through their website and received a nice kids movie gift basket and some free rental coupons.

I was wondering what different ways people use their high-ticket items, such as airline tickets and DIsney tickets and such... In the past we've only had baskets, with tickets being .50 a piece, and a gift cert. raffle, with gift cards for local businesses, with tickets being $2 apiece. Doing it that way will not raise nearly the money we could with these more valuable prizes, but it's the first year I've been able to start looking into that. Any advice?
