We are doing an auction again this year. Last year we had a lot of teacher experiences, but this year we want to do experiences that the kids do that the teachers will bid one. Does anyone have any ideas? We are a K-6 school. Thanks in advance for your ideas! By the way, this website is AWESOME! I have already started requesting from national donors, so thank you for this!
We have a large Gala every year and have companies that donate goods to our silent auction as well. We have learned that most companies will only donate once in a calendar year. So if last year your event was in October and this year it's in September, you won't be able to solicit that company again. This is true for the airlines. It's so important to keep good records for the next year so your not spinning wheels.
Go back and start looking at the pages that start a year or so ago on here and you can find some companies and addresses--that's what I did--actually I spent some time and started at page 1.
Our auction is 2.5 weeks away!!! I should have started June trying to get donations from national companies. I don't have great advice except the earlier you start the better. I did get an American Girl doll. Good luck!
