The ULTIMATE Donation List

12 years 1 month ago #160471 by Just1Mom
I'm not sure if anyone else has posted this, but Ticket Liquidator emailed me a link to go through Survey Monkey for a donation. This is their new way of accepting requests. I thought that I would pass it along to everyone.

The intent of this post from the admins that run the page:

I've noticed that a lot of the listings for auction/raffle donations are quite old. Both the economy and company policies change over time, so I am starting a new Thread. I have found it tedious to go through pages and pages of a thread to get what we all really want - Names and contact info of national corporate donors people have been successful with. So, I ask the following:

PLEASE:
1) Only list sources you have had success with.
2) If you have questions for a poster, please contact them directly - not through this thread. This thread is supposed to be a Listing.
3) Use the following format for your listing

COMPANY NAME
-- Mailing Address -or- URL for online form
-- How long it took you to get a response
-- What did the company donate?
-- Your comments

Thank you for respecting the original intent of this page. It has been priceless for the silent auction I'm helping organize!

Anon, I forgot to mention that we give the auctioneer a 'free table' with 8 dinner tickets for his time. Our table sponsors also get premier advertising as well as bay names at the event, so he gets his business displayed on banners and such. Maybe you could approach a local auctioneer and offer them free tickets, as well as free advertising at the event if they will donate their time. We have found other professionals willing to donate things to us in this manner also (a local printer, when asked for a donation, volunteered to do all the auction program printing for us for free. Just ask. You never know how much you can get free until you do.

@Jen: What we are ''supposed'' to do on this thread has changed over time. The original thread was started well over 2 years ago, and has obviously evolved into something more. Most people seem to like the current trend of the thread--if you don't, then don't use it!

@anon: We are lucky enough to have a member of our school community who is a professional auctioneer, and he donates his time for our event every year. He also brings along his ring-men to help drive up bids, and make sure all bidders are called out. I think a professional can definetaly bring in more excitement to the event, and they know what things are worth, and they know 'sneaky' ways to get people to bid higher.

Laura,
Medieval times you can just send an email to from their site. State Cruises has a donation section on their site. I think we mailed Interpid but I am sorry I dont have the address.
