We are still in the process of getting our tax exempt 501(c)3 status (waiting for the IRS who is backlogged) but there are still companies out there that will donate even if you don't have it yet. There are some that you will need to have it for (like American Girl) but a lot, especially local, that don't need it. Hope that helps.

Is it an auction or basket raffle? If it is a basket raffle, i would do single gift cards as long as they are about $20 to $25 each and maybe see if some parents are willing to donate bottles of wine and make that up as a basket.

I have a basket question. Is it better to have fewer (but higher value) baskets or more (but less value baskets) for an event? I have about 56 items and want to combine them into baskets....I'm just wondering how I should do it. For example: 2 restaurant baskets or put all the restaurant gift cards together in one? Trying to think of what will get more $$$.

Hi. I'm in a PTA, but our PTA is under the umbrella of the state PTA. I just called them and asked for the letters to state that we are under them.

The PTO I am part of does not have a tax ID just a EIN number! Can we apply to some of these without one! We are a school that is on base! We haven't tried for anything yet but really don't know how or no one can tell us how! Thank you!
