2013 ULTIMATE DONATION LIST

10 years 8 months ago #164201 by skdesplinter
I wanted to give everyone a super easy way we make extra money for our auction. When we start we offer family flags. We offer them at $25 (which is the cost of 1 dinner ticket). We put all of the family members names on the flag and it hangs in the school hallway for the year. The kids love seeing their names on the flags and even encourage their parents to buy them. They can use their dinner ticket or not it is up to them but we make a bunch of easy cash this way. We have one area that they all hang. You could line the tops of the hallway walls with them also.

When we did our ticket sales the easiest and quickest way where we had alot of them come back is to attach a note to an envelope and tell them to send it back completing their information by a certain date. We raised over $5000 doing ticket sales this way rather than through the car rider line or sending fliers home.

Just wondering how some people handle tickets sales for their events. Right now each family (about 150) has to buy a ticket for the dinner and it is included in their fees. It was a headache trying to get people to let us know if they were going to use their ticket and some gave them to somebody else to use. We sent flyers home and got responses but the ticket organization took alot of time. Any suggestions?

APlant,

That depends entirely on who your guests will be, and how many people you expect to show up. It might be a good idea to have advance tickets be cheaper, that way you are encouraging people to commit now, rather than wait. So $25 now, or $30 at the door - something like that. Anyway, multiply how many guests you think you will have times your ticket price. Then figure out how much your tickets will be. How many separate baskets are there to enter tickets into? $10,000 is entirely reasonable for an event like that if you have the right amount of people and items, but it is hard to know that without knowing your situation. Are you a small school?

Hi All. New here but have gotten some WONDERFUL help from this list and from everyone who posted. I just have a few questions about our upcoming fundraiser.

This is our first ever so bear with me :)

Our event is on Friday, September 27, 2013
We are planning a gift auction (where people by tickets and walk around and put their tickets in a bucket to win that prize also known as Chinese Auction). We have some great prizes and our goal is to raie about $10,000 or more. My question is, is that not a realistic number for this type of event? We are charging $25 at the door (includes admission and buffet dinner) and tickets are sold separately. I really need some guidance here.

Thank you!

@McKenna....Thanks so much for the info. Do you have an email? I would love to pick your brain about some tournament ideas.
