What would he need it for? On the other hand why not give it to him/her? The EIN is simply the organizations tax ID number. In and of itself, it doesn't indicate anything except that the organization registered for one. EIN used to be pretty commonly disclosed/published. Now I'm seeing warnings that, like personal identity theft, there are cases of business identity theft. So maybe you don't want to publish it, but I wouldn't see any reason to keep it from a major stakeholder like the principal.
