Question: can a person be on two boards at once?

can the president of our board also be the vice president on a different school board at the same time? is there anything you can do about it?

If the concern is that the president is spread too thin and isn't fulfilling her duties, I'd suggest having the rest of the board address that issue with her. Try detailing instances when she was needed but didn't come through or things that have been left undone because she didn't fulfill her job. Approach it in an unemotional and businesslike way. If that doesn't help, press her to make a decision between the two jobs. You might also check with the officers of the other group--you might be able to enlist them in putting on the pressure. Unless your bylaws specifically state that a president can't serve on another parent group board (that would be unusual), you can't really prevent it.
