Question: What does the PTO actually do nowadays?

Besides holding events and asking for money...do you actually work as a laison between parents and teachers? Are you involved at all in the education process? Or, do you just raise money for the schools?

Hi there,
This is a great question. Parent groups do raise money, but, the true mission is to build a community that creates the best possible educational experience for the kids. The means bringing families together by holding events, meetings, socials, and helping parents feel connected to the school. It means encouraging parents to get involved at school to help kids in a variety of ways. And it means enhancing the learning experiences and environment so kids will thrive and learn. Often this includes raising funds to bring enrichment programs to the school.
