Hi vbrown,
You do need to be careful with this one. Some folks strongly believe that any group money should be spent only on things that directly benefit the students and education. We strongly believe that you should thank volunteers often and go out of your way to recognize their contributions. There are lots of ways (even simple hand-written notes) that you can do this without spending lots of money. As far as the board is concerned, consider going out as a group to celebrate (self funded). What you don't want to do is spend money on the board and get parents upset.
