Question: Current PTO giving away extra funds and taking away monies to go towards next years budget.

When a current PTO board is ending, but some want to lower the budget which then affects next years budget for the new PTO board. How is this “legal” in the sense of bylaws. They wanted to give out extra money for something that it is the counties responsibility to provide and PTO money should not go towards that. This is why counties get money from the government to cover things like this. I don’t feel parents would be happy to know the money that was fundraiser and donated to the PTO when to something on the school it had no reason to cover financially as that is the counties problem. Yet then takes away from the next years budget balance.
