Hi, Susan here again. Librarian from New York. We have the Reading Challenge every year here at the Whitestone Library.
Last year, I kissed a frog and turned into a princess. Wish I could post a picture here.
have some sort of floating ideas for this year. Customers give me ideas. I'm thinking about sitting in Spaghettos this year. Or teaching a turtle to dance.
I need help, what can I do? I'm NOT eating worms.

We are doing a reading challenge right now and the kids are gonna silly string him and dress him up in ice cream. I think next year it will be slime time!!!
I googled some ideas and found one school did the ice cream thing by raising money for a teachers daughter who had cancer. Then the teachers stepped in and were ice creamed too if they rasied more money by a certain date. We have alot of people that are dealing with cancer in our school right now so i think this is a wonderful idea.
I think the kids fav has been having the principal and librarian in a dumking booth at our end of year carnival- contingent upon kids meeting the challenge. Our local rental place gives it to us for 1/2 price bcause its for a good cause.
