Ok--wanna hear something crazy. I started my field placement yesterday in a school in my county. Before I started, I emailed my cooperating class teacher, telling her about myself and one of the things was that I am on the PTO as volunteer coordinator. So i walk into the school at 7:30 yesterday and the president of their PTO was waiting on me. They want me join their group and start helping organize the reading night for this coming Tuesday. And because I do not have the word "NO" in my vocabulary, i spent the whole lunch time, planning the night . How do I get myself into these situations? I just felt so bad for her cause she started telling me how she is not creative, and how they only have a few volunteers, and blah blah blah..... So now, I am making vests out of paper bags cause we are going with a western theme. :(

We escaped the ice yesterday, thankfully! Some of you are really getting hammered with snow and ice. I hope everyone is taking care!

ScottsMom - We stoped doing our taxes because we wanted to remain married ... after 22 forms for filing we decided it was time to hand the mess over to an accountant ... each year we are able to write off the previous years accountant's fees. Between the peace that occurs each tax time from us not having to do them & the ability to write off the fees we are happy campers.
It would be nice if someone else messed it up (the car) but it was pretty much about 90% my hubbys fault thus the reason he is so mad at himself. We are just thanking our stars that the other person was not hurt and their truck was barely scratched.
Hope everyone has a great Friday ... take it wasy out there!

Murphy's Law, pay to have it fixed and someone else will break it for you for free!
We have a late 90's Blazer. Doesn't get the best milage but it does everything I need it to and has been wonderful on the ice/snow b/c it's got 4 wheel drive. I will never drive anything else. Financially, we will be ready to get a new vehicle in the next year so I've been looking. I'm really leaning towards a Jeep Compass, comes with everything I want and decent gas mileage. (About twice what I get know.) One of my friends bought a Saturn Vue (green version) and really likes it but says it's nowhere near as efficent as is advertised.
My husband's W-2 came in today so I've been doing taxes this evening around Family Reading Night. Taxes are so weird. We know we are getting a good refund (makes me happy) but I stress out so much tring to figure out which education credit to take and what from of interest this investmant and that investment are. All in all, I'm really worn out by the experience but I want to go on a shopping spree now, too!

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
