I'm glad to hear that your expo was successful CC!

I love White Flower Farms as well. I not only have one black thumb, I have two. Their products are hardy to say the least. I have not killed anything I have planted outdoors from them yet. My husband always asks me to have mercy on our indoor plants which means in hubby language "Don't touch!"

Love, love, love White Flower Farms! www.whiteflowerfarm.com/ I have a black thumb but I've never managed to kill anything I ordered from them. MIL swears by them. Plants from there are a little pricey but they thrive, come with great follow up instructions and customer support via web and phone.

Cold and wet in Alabama but no snow. It was snowing when we left Chicago yesterday but not bad enough to delay flights. We got to watch the last of the Bears game at the gate in O'Hare. Chicago fans are crazy people. Chicagoans are crazy in general and they do love Da Bears! I guess it's time to dig out my 20 year old Super Bowl Shuffle record and see if I can find a turn table somewhere! Woo Hoooo Shawn! We got frequent updates on the plane about the Colts game. Sounds like it was a real edge of the seat game!

The expo was amazing. It was nothing like I expected and tons of fun. The team rocked! We're all kinda new to this so it was a great team building experience. My PTO experience came in handy about 500 different ways. We had a way cool booth. "Animal Jim" Feurer casually strolled through our booth and I chatted with him - I can't really remember what I said. I just hope it wasn't anything stupid and was mostly hoping my heart wouldn't explode. Arnie "Farmer" Beswick came by while I was gone but I saw him and his Tameless Tiger Tempest. Gosh, it was like being blessed by the Gods of Drag Racing to have those two give us some attention! It sure helped to have the company's flagship, a bright orange 1740hp (on pump gas) Caprice Station Wagon in the booth. Check it out at www.stevemorrisracingengines.com and be sure to click on the link to the Hot Rod article. Mr. Morris started and grew the business over the past few years and we only recently bought it. It's going to be a ton of fun finding out how much we'll be able to build it from here!

OK, I know I'm going on way too much. I'm still on the weekend long adrenaline high, or maybe it was all the fumes in the convention center. Now it's time to calm down, gather up all of our notes from the weekend and start calling people back.

I've had great luck with Spring Hill Nurseries for mail order perennials, but nothing beats a local nursery we have here in town for the best geraniums and double impatiens. The best gardening tip I ever got was "don't buy a $5.00 plant and put it in a 50 cent hole, instead buy a 50 cent plant and put it in a $5.00 hole." In other words, amend that soil and give the plant what it needs to grow.

We got 5 inches of snow this weekend. Kids went sledding at grandparent's farm and made a GIANT snowball. Son and I had a nice snowball fight in our back yard. Then I picked him up and stuck him in a pile of snow.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

We just had our 3rd day of snowfall this week - over 6 inches each day - drifting from high winds 2 out of the 3 days. I wonder if I can get anyone to truck some of it out to all those wanting snow! This morning seems to be the calm before the next storm; expected late tonight.
At any rate all this snow is making me think spring and the types of bulbs, bushes and trees I may want to plant. I spent most of the day checking out mail order sites and requesting catalogs. Any one have any favorite companies if not for the ordering for the fab catalog choices?

We have that drizzly yucky rain here. Just enough rain to make people drive crazy, but not enough to call it a nap day. I wish we would get snow. And real snow. The "snow" we get is usually just chunky ice stuff. One of the boys asked me last night if we could take a trip to see snow. :) The strange thing is that I have daffodils about to bloom. This weather is too crazy!

Hubby is firmly planted to the couch watching football and pregame junk. I'm just biding my time till Desperate Housewives tonight.

Hope CC's car show went well this weekend. She is a jack of all trades. Or should i say a jill of all trades. :)

Yall stay safe out there!
