The ULTIMATE Donation List

Hello jh,

For silent auction check-out training, you can download a free 1-hour audio recording from my site. (It comes as an .mp3 to your computer.)

It's under "Free Resources" and called "Auction Checkout Training." I don't know if the link will properly post here, but I'll give it a shot.

My community finds this to be a great refresher to listen to once a year, before the auction.

In addition, this blog post shows photos of bid boards. A bid board will facilitate your check-out line.

If the link below doesn't seem to work, just do a search for "Red Apple Auctions" and the title of the blog post, which is "Use signage (a bid board) to let silent auction bidders know they won."

Here's the link:

Enjoy!

Any ideas for a class project for 4th graders? Each classroom usually creates a project that a parent in the class usually bids on. In year's past we have had flower pots with the kids thumbprint, a bookcase with the kids favorite books and a review by them, a bench painted by the kids, etc. One idea was to make a cookie cookbook with an apron and their handprints which I may go with. Has anyone used a website to create a cookbook? I would like to give the teacher 2 options to select from.

also - any ideas on how to make check out smoother at the end of a silent auction? We usually only have one check out due to the amount of volunteers and it can get hectic.

thanks for the help!

Kim,

You were looking for some experiences.... these are some we're trying this year:
A "date" for ice cream with a teacher
A a bedtime story at your home, with a reading by a favorite teacher arriving in pj's and slippers
A teacher to come for dinner with the family
A Shopping trip with your child to a book store
A pool party at the home of a teacher
Lunch at McDonald's and a movie with a teacher, etc

If you could post or email some of the ones you are using or some ideas that were sent I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Kim
