Question: School officials at meetings?

I want to know whether a school official should be present at PTA meetings and whether there are bylaws that say this.

Elly says you would need to check your own group’s bylaws, if you have them, but most groups don’t follow (or need) that sort of stipulation. If this rule exists, it’s more likely to be something enforced by the school district than part of your group’s bylaws.

In that case, it’s up to you whether to follow the rule. You certainly wouldn’t want to turn away school officials, but you undoubtedly can conduct group business well without the principal or other administrator in attendance.
