Question: PTO Member to Attend General PTO Meeting

The question has come up whether only PTO members are allowed at the general PTO meeting or if anyone can attend. Our bylaws do not address the issue. Thanks for any guidance!

You absolutely should open your meetings to anyone who wants to attend. Imagine being a parent, maybe new to the school and interested in checking out the PTO -- only to be told you can't attend because you're not a member. That would be a pretty big turnoff.
