Question: Meetings

How many meetings (not board meetings) are required per school year?? We have a very low turn out and was thinking of doing our meetings every other month instead of monthly

The number of meeting is really up to your group and what your bylaws say. It may be the time of day that you are holding them. Try doing it in the evening after dinner and let parents bring their children if it will help or hold a small raffle each month a $5.00 gift card? Remind parents on social media that there is a meeting, send home something in the backpack. Good luck!

Yes, our school also has low turnout thru the years and we went from 4, to 3, to 2 meetings. 2 is the minimum I believe since we need a vote in fall for budget + vote in spring for the new exec board. We had to edit out bylaws. There is no requirement for ptos, unlike PTA.
