D, he sounds like a real cutie. As 5 year-olds go, he is probably a very cool dude, especially when his mom takes him to awesome places like military museums! His friends are probably in awe of him and want you for their mother!

If you think you're cool, you're probably not. If you just know you're cool, well :cool: then you are. Your little guy sounds like tons of fun, d, and very cool.

Neat for both of you guys--glad the heart murmur was caught so quickly and hoorah for smart kids. On the other end of the spectrum, my 5 year old came down and said "mommy, let's talk about how cool I am"....I used to say with pride that he was the one I got to raise but now I'm not so sure!!!

Thanks CC, he's a special little guy. Sometimes his thought processes just amaze me, and when he and the 3 other members of his team are together, well, it boggles the mind. In the competition they get to problem solve the issue of elder care. Kind of a big topic for the minds of 5th graders, but the parents and grandparents have been providing info and ideas, so they should have a lot to draw from for their planning.

LUV, that's terrific news!!! You must be very proud of him. It makes me feel good to know that kids like him are already looking toward the future and what they can do to make a positive difference. Nervous is a good thing. It means they aren't arrogant or cocky or taking a win for granted. They're going to do an awesome job. Good for him and his team and good for you for raising such a bright, caring, concientous young man.

It's good that they caught it quickly. Kids bounce back fast too.

My good news-my son's Future Problem Solving team is going to state competition this weekend. The kids are all getting a bit nervous( I think I am too.) Not sure how excited I am about the long drive there and back and trying to entertain ourselves while our kids compete. All I can say is thank heavens for wonderful TAG teachers who stimulate and challenge our children to reach beyond the norm.
