Yeah - 2 days and counting!!!

Looks like we're going to skip the Charlotte's Web opening and go to the more 13 year old boy appropriate opening of Eragon. Wow, is my son excited about that.

GaMom - I cut my own hair in kindergarten because I wanted sideburns just like my dad's. It was 1970, sideburns were cool, just not on a five year old girl. My mom cut all of my hair short and sent me to school in the summer heat with a winter hat on my head. I never cut my own hair again. But I did cut my little sister's bangs..... until they were a 1/2 inch long and stuck straight out. Nowhere near as cool as sideburns! :D She was 5, I was 10, we were playing beauty shop. I know, I should've known better.

Silver--i love your neighborhood list! that sounds cool! I'd like to be a part of that one! My neighbors are all nice but mostly office people--an accountant, a secretary, a nurse (who does come in handy) etc.

Only 3 more days of school left! My 6 year old, in first grade has decided not to use his brain AT ALL this week. now, let's keep in mind that he has been going thru a growing spurt and I can't keep him in jeans lately. He ON PURPOSE cut his jeans, and then ripped them, and then cut his shirt at the wrist. THEN his friend pulled a bunch of hair up and cut it. I noticed the shirt and jeans immediately and we went back to the school and had a talk with the teacher. but I didn't know about the hair till this morning. his friends mom is the school secretary, so we called them to the office and his friend admitted it. Of course, neither of them know WHY they did this. They just did. Well mine is having to pay me for the jeans and the shirt, he is very into saving his money right now. The other has to pay for mine a hair cut to straighten this out. they are both having to work to earn this money and then pay us. in class, they were unable to jkoin the others in making some art projects today and had to do some addtional work. TOO CRAZY. then this moning the same child pee's on his toothbrush. He said he had just gotten done brushing his teeth (thank goodness for that) and had to go, and didn't put the toothbrush down. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't even indulge in chocolate cause I had to lay down to zip my pants this morning. ARGH!!!!!!

Do you have a listing of people in the neighborhood that have backgrounds in any of the work that may need to be done in the farm? Our neighborhood has a small list of everyone's expertise ... drywall, electrician, plumbing ... and whenever someone is in need you can call and the neighbor will come over (go over) & help out for the cost of materials. I can not tell you how many times this has helped us out with my parents ... they couldn't read instructions together to get it right!

I'm lucky, I only have to purchase, wrap, and deliver. All our family is close by so we see them on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.

My big issue is what to get my parents. I'd like to get my dad a hired hand for the farm, but that's a bit over the budget! It would be a gift for my mom too, because then she wouldn't have to worry about him doing things he shouldn't be doing and getting hurt like he did this past week. He forgets he's 70+. Maybe I should get her a giant roll of duct tape to tape him to the chair when she leaves the house so he can't get into trouble!

Thanks Scottmom, that was very nice of you. I looked through our local hobby store with no luck. I'm betting my friend will find them. Bigger city-better chance. Otherwise, I'll be doing the e-bay thing like you say Demi. Just didn't want to go there if I could avoid it!
