Question: Meeting notes approval

Our group secretary wants to do away with paper meeting notes. Can we have people review meeting notes online prior to meeting or do we have to hand them out to have them approved?

It's a good idea to send minutes out electronically. Even so, you should have a few paper copies at the meeting for people who are new or aren't on your email list. You should approve the minutes -- they are the official record of your group's activities -- but it's perfectly OK to provide copies in advance and dispense with reading them at the meeting. (In fact, we like this practice as a good way to keep meetings shorter and more engaging.)
