Well, you would first need to check your bylaws to see if there are any rules established around elections/ number of board positions. The language of the bylaws may be general enough to allow for some flexibility. You should really try to get someone lined up as treasurer because you want someone focused on that. In terms of the other positions, again, if you do have flexibility, you could figure it out based on the people you are stepping up and what they most want to do. If you have one person who wants to be president and one who wants to be secretary, then go ahead with that. You don't have to have a VP. Or, you could look at another option of having folks share responsibilities that would normally be officially assigned to certain board members. Bottom line, we'd love to hold elections and have people vying for all board positions, but it doesn't always happen that way and we have to work with what we have. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.
